Artisan bread pre-order system: standing orders & delivery

Artisan bread makers: every loaf sold before the oven's on. Tick the days. Pay online. Hand delivered.

Orders in Instagram DMs, cash at the door and a bake count worked out on the back of a flour bag. We build pre-order and hand delivery systems for artisan bread makers, then we host them and look after them.

Looking for a bread pre-order system that works around your bake days?

Artisan bread makers bake small batches on set days and sell out by word of mouth. That's a lovely way to run a bakery until the orders are spread across Instagram, Facebook and your text messages. Then you're up at 2am trying to remember whether Sarah wanted one loaf or two. Most online shops are built for products that sit on a shelf. Your stock doesn't exist until the leaven says so.

Wollopit builds ordering around your oven. Customers tick every Saturday or any extra bake day, pay online and get their loaves hand delivered. Orders close at your cut-off, the bake list and dough quantities work themselves out and your delivery round lands on your phone in door order. We host it and look after it, so you can get back to the bread.

01The problems

What we hear from artisan bread makers

Does your artisan bread maker have these problems? Here's how we'd fix them.

Most bread makers we'd talk to have nailed the crust and the crumb. It's the messages, the money and the maths around the loaf that eat the week.

  • The problemOrders in DMsMessages across Instagram, texts and Facebook, with half of them buried by the time you sit down to count.
How we fix itOne order page customers tick and pay on. Every order lands in one list.
  • The problemChasing paymentCash at the door, forgotten transfers and awkward texts to people you see every week.
How we fix itPaid online before you bake, with cards saved for regulars.

02What we build

Solutions

What we build for artisan bread makers. Usually all talking to each other.

Pick the one that's hurting most or join the whole lot up. Everything is built around how your team works, not the other way round.

01

Loaf order page

Customers pick loaves and bake days on their phone. No app to download.

02

Every Saturday standing orders

Tick the days they want and it repeats until they change it.

03

Bake day alerts

SMS and email when you fire up the oven, including one-off extra bakes.

04

Online payment

Paid before the bake, cards saved for regulars and failed payments retried.

05

Bake list and dough maths

Loaves, flour, water, salt and leaven worked out at cut-off.

06

Hand delivery round

Doors in order with notes on your phone. Tick when dropped.

07

Skip and pause

Customers manage their own holidays from a link. No more texts.

08

Caps, cut-offs and waitlists

Set how many loaves each bake can hold and let the page do the saying no.

09

Pickup points and market collection

Collect from the bakehouse door, a market stall or a local shop with name lists for each.

10

Cafe and trade orders

Standing orders for local cafes and grocers with invoices to Xero or MYOB.

11

A website that smells like bread

Hand-built, quick on phones and built to rank for 'sourdough near me' and your suburb.

03The systems

The big ones

From the first tick to the last doorstep.

These are the systems that take the weight off a small bakery. Start with the order page and join up the rest when you're ready.

Loaf pre-orders

Customers tick the days. The orders look after themselves.

One simple page shows what's baking and when. Customers tick every Saturday or any extra bake day, pay online and they're done. Regulars stay on the list without sending you a single message.

  • Order on any phone with no app
  • Every Saturday or pick single bake days
  • Loaf sizes, flavours and weekly specials
  • Paid online before the bake
  • Saved cards for regulars
  • Skip a week or pause from a link
  • Loaf caps for every bake
  • Automatic cut-off times
  • Waitlist for sold-out bakes
  • Ingredients and allergens on every loaf

Bake list & dough maths

Cut-off hits and the bake list writes itself.

The moment orders close you get the exact count of every loaf for that bake. Your recipes turn that count into flour, water, salt and leaven, so the flour bag can go back to holding flour.

  • Loaf totals from paid orders
  • Recipes stored as baker's percentages
  • Dough weights scaled to the order
  • Leaven quantity and feed reminders
  • Allowance for scaling loss
  • Batches split by oven load
  • Flour and seed stock running totals
  • Low stock reminders
  • Printable bake sheet
  • What sold on every past bake

Bake day alerts

Fire up the oven and tell everyone in one tap.

Decide to bake an extra Tuesday and your customers know about it before the kettle boils. Alerts go out by SMS and email with a link straight to the order page, so an extra bake can sell out without a single post.

  • One-tap alerts for extra bake days
  • SMS and email
  • Link straight to that bake's orders
  • Customers choose which alerts they get
  • Cut-off reminders for people yet to order
  • New loaf and special announcements
  • Waitlist alerts when a spot opens
  • Holiday and closure notices
  • Delivered tonight messages
  • Easy unsubscribe built in

Hand delivery

Every door in order. Every loaf ticked off.

Your paid orders turn into a delivery round sorted by street, with each customer's loaves and notes on your phone. Tick a door and they get a message that the bread's on the porch while it's still warm.

  • Round sorted into door order
  • Delivery areas and days you choose
  • Loaves listed for every stop
  • Door notes and gate codes
  • Tap to open in Google Maps
  • Tick each door as you drop
  • Dropped-off text to the customer
  • Pickup points on the same list
  • Delivery fees by area
  • Share the round with a driver
04How it changes

Before and after

A bake count on a flour bag, wolloped.

Here's how a Saturday bake could change. Every bakery runs differently, so we map yours first.

Before

  1. DMs across three apps
  2. Bake count on a flour bag
  3. One more loaf requests after the dough's mixed
  4. Chasing cash at doors
  5. Addresses on scraps of paper

After

  1. One page to tick and pay
  2. Bake list at cut-off
  3. Orders close themselves and late ones join the waitlist
  4. Paid before you bake
  5. Round in order, tick each door

07How we work

The process

Some people dip their toe in. We turn up in a rebreather.

We get properly below the surface of your artisan bread maker: the systems, the busy days and the jobs everyone hates. Then we fix the bits that matter most first.

  1. 01

    Think

We learn your bake days, oven capacity, cut-offs and delivery patch, then work out what's actually chewing up your week.

  2. 02

    Archi-tech

We plan it before writing code: your loaves, recipes, standing orders, payments, delivery round, hosting and cost.

  3. 03

    Build

Real engineering, shown to you early and often. Usually the order page first, so you get a win before too many more bake days go by.

  4. 04

    Look after

We host it, maintain it and keep improving it. When something breaks you call the people who built it.

08Questions

FAQ

Things artisan bread makers ask us.

Something else on your mind? Ring 0423 011 252 and ask the people who'd build it.

Can customers order every Saturday?

Yes. They tick every Saturday and any other bake days they want. It repeats until they pause it.

What happens when someone goes on holidays?

They skip a week or pause their order from a link, right up until your cut-off. It comes off the bake list on its own and they aren't charged for that bake.

Can I limit how many loaves I sell each bake?

Yes. You set a cap for each loaf or the whole oven and orders stop when you hit it. Customers who miss out can join a waitlist.

Can it work out my dough quantities?

Yes. Give us your recipes and it scales flour, water, salt and leaven to the paid orders at cut-off. It can also split the bake into oven loads.

Do I have to deliver or can people collect?

Whichever suits you. Hand delivery, bakehouse pickup and market collection can all run from the same orders, with separate lists for each.

I already use Square or Shopify. Do I have to switch?

No. We build around what's working. Keep Square on your market stall or Shopify on your website and we'll connect the bake day ordering to it. If something's holding you back we'll show you what replacing it would involve first.

How much does a bread pre-order system cost?

It depends on what you need, so we quote up front once we understand it. No surprise invoices, no lock-in and you own what we build.

How long does it take?

We work in stages so you get the first win early. That's usually the order page and payments, with the bake list and delivery round joined on after.

Who looks after it once it's built?

We do. We host it on our own managed servers and keep it updated and secure. When you need something you ring the people who built it.

We already have systems. Can you upgrade them instead of starting again?

Usually, yes. Most artisan bread makers we work with keep what's working and upgrade the rest in stages. We move your data across, connect the old and new while we switch and retire the old system only when the new one is proven.
